Charleston Job Corps Center opened in June, 1965 at the old Kanawha Hotel on Summers Street in Charleston as an all female center.  In 1976 the Charleston Job Corps Center became a coeducational facility. The center  was relocated in 1997 to a new mountaintop campus overlooking the city of Charleston, W.Va. The center is approximately 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, the capital of West Virginia.

Campus
The Charleston Job Corps Center has a capacity for 400 students, including a non-residential students component. The non-residential students are provided transportation to the CJCC campus. The center has four dorms in two buildings. Each student shares a dorm room with up to three other people, and bath facilities are located in each room.
